Ukrainian Armed Forces struck the Russian ship 'Okhotnik' and a drilling platform in the Caspian Sea

Війська України завдали удару по російському судну 'Охотник' та буровій платформі в Каспійському морі.

Successful Operation of the Ukrainian Armed Forces

On the night of December 19, the Ukrainian Armed Forces successfully struck the military ship of the Russian Federation of project 22460 'Okhotnik' and a drilling platform at the oil and gas field in the Caspian Sea. This strike is aimed at reducing the military-economic potential of the enemy, as reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The struck military ship 'Okhotnik' was located near the oil and gas extraction platform named after Filanovskiy, which belongs to the company 'Lukoil'. This platform is an important object of oil and gas extraction in the region. To ensure the safety and effectiveness of operations, an important goal of the strike was also to hit the radar system RSP-6M2, which was located in the Krasnosilskyi area in the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea.

Strategic Importance of the Operation

Thus, the operation of the Ukrainian Armed Forces emphasizes activity and determination in countering military threats coming from the Russian Federation.

This incident indicates the growing military activity of Ukraine in response to aggression from Russia, as well as the strategic importance of oil and gas facilities in ensuring economic stability. Hitting military and economic targets can significantly impact the operational capabilities of the enemy in the region. Such actions can also change the balance of power in the Caspian Sea, which is an important strategic theater for both countries.
