Ukrainian Forces Target Russian Missile Factories and Aircraft at Yeysk Airfield, Continuing Strikes on Strategic Sites

Українські військові завдають ударів по заводам, що виготовляють ракети, та літакам на аеродромі Єйськ, продовжуючи операції проти важливих об’єктів.

Precision Strikes on Russian Military Manufacturing

On October 23 and into the early hours of October 24, Ukrainian defense forces launched coordinated attacks against two key Russian missile production facilities, as well as an aircraft stationed at the Yeysk airfield in Russia's Krasnodar region. These operations aim to diminish Russia's military capabilities amid the ongoing armed conflict.

Details of the Targeted Facilities

  • One of the struck sites was Proton-Electrotekh in Oryol, a leading Russian manufacturer specializing in optoelectronic equipment and full-cycle instrument production. This plant is known for producing modules used in S-71 Kover cruise missiles and inverter switches for the 9M723 Iskander-M ballistic missile systems. Proton-Electrotekh also contributes to the production of combat vehicles for the Pantsir-S1 anti-aircraft missile and gun system and its variants.

  • The second target was the Tolyattikauchuk plant in Tolyatti, Samara region, which focuses on synthetic rubber, monomers, fractions, and high-octane gasoline additives. Synthetic rubber from this facility plays a critical role in manufacturing solid rocket fuel for tactical and ballistic missiles. Reports confirmed an explosion and fire near the plant, significantly disrupting the supply chain for missile components and raw materials essential to Russia's missile program.

Additionally, an aircraft at the Yeysk airfield sustained damage, though the extent of the impact is still being assessed. These strikes were carried out under Ukraine's right to self-defense as outlined in Article 51 of the United Nations Charter.

The Ukrainian General Staff declared: "Operations targeting the enemy’s critical military infrastructure will continue until Russia ceases its armed aggression against Ukraine."

These targeted attacks on Russia's missile production infrastructure highlight Ukraine's strategic efforts to weaken the adversary's combat potential. Disrupting the manufacturing of missile components is vital, as it can delay supply lines and impair Russia's ability to conduct military operations. This development comes within the broader context of the prolonged conflict between Ukraine and Russia, ongoing since 2014, reflecting an intensification of military measures by both sides in response to security threats.

In addition to these recent strikes, the Ukrainian defense forces have effectively targeted other significant Russian military installations. Such operations not only aim to weaken Russia's defense capabilities but also demonstrate an ongoing commitment to neutralizing threats.
