Strike Hits Kamensky Industrial Complex
In the early hours of October 31, Ukrainian Defense Forces launched a coordinated attack on the Kamensky plant located in Kamensk-Shakhtinsky, within Russia’s Rostov region. This operation involved the use of strike drones alongside the Ukrainian Navy’s Neptune coastal missile systems. The assault resulted in damage to four production workshops and ignited a warehouse storing finished products.
The Kamensky facility produces solid rocket fuel essential for ammunition used in multiple Russian multiple launch rocket systems, including the Uragan, Smerch, and Tornado-S. Its output also supports various other missile platforms and aerial weaponry. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine highlighted that targeting solid rocket fuel production undermines Russia’s ability to launch rocket attacks on Ukrainian civilian areas.
Ukraine’s Strategic Approach
In addition to the Kamensky strike, Ukrainian forces successfully struck four Russian military supply depots near Khartsyzk, Dokuchaievsk, Novovasylivka, and Novoaydar. These actions form part of a broader, systematic campaign aimed at weakening Russia’s military-industrial capabilities. Ukraine asserts its right to self-defense under Article 51 of the UN Charter in conducting these operations.
This recent attack could significantly degrade Russia’s capacity to conduct rocket artillery strikes by reducing the availability of solid rocket fuel. Against the backdrop of the ongoing conflict, these precision strikes demonstrate Ukraine’s commitment to intensifying its defensive measures while seeking to erode the enemy’s warfighting potential. Such efforts underscore Ukraine’s determination to safeguard its sovereignty and protect its population from external threats.
