Strikes by the Ukrainian Defense Forces on the military facilities of the occupiers
The Ukrainian Defense Forces struck drilling installations and military facilities of the Russian occupiers. On January 11, 2023, the Ukrainian Defense Forces hit three drilling rigs of the 'Lukoil' corporation located in the Caspian Sea. As a result of the strike, the drilling platforms named after V. Filanovsky, Yuri Korchagin, and Valery Graifer were destroyed.
Moreover, a strike was recorded on a launcher of the Buk-M3 anti-aircraft missile system that was located near the settlement of Baranycheve in the temporarily occupied territory of the Luhansk region. A strike was also carried out on the supply depot of the 49th army of the occupiers in the area of Novotroitske in the temporarily occupied territory of the Kherson region. These actions are part of Ukraine's efforts to counter aggression and protect its territory.
Reasons and consequences of the strikes
The strikes on military targets and the infrastructure of the aggressor indicate the continuation of active military actions by Ukraine in response to Russian aggression. The striking of Lukoil's drilling installations may have strategic significance, as these facilities finance the military operations of the occupiers. Overall, such operations underscore the readiness of Ukrainian forces to defend their territories and demonstrate an effort to destroy the military infrastructure of the opponent.
