Ukrainian defense forces hit an oil depot in Belgorod and a storage facility of the Russian division in Donbas

Сили оборони України успішно завдали удару по нафтобазі в Бєлгороді та складу російської дивізії в Донбасі.

Strikes on the oil depot and the technical equipment storage

The Ukrainian defense forces struck an oil depot in the Belgorod region of the Russian Federation, as well as hit the storage facility of material and technical resources of the 20th motorized rifle division in the temporarily occupied territory of Donetsk region. The strike on the 'Oskolnefteesnab' oil depot occurred in the night of January 7. This oil depot supplies fuel to the Russian army, and as a result of the hits, a large-scale fire broke out.

Additionally, the storage facility of material and technical resources of the 20th motorized rifle division was hit, which is part of the strategy to disrupt the enemy's logistics. The extent of the damage in both cases is currently being clarified. It is known that two vertical tanks RVS-5000 were damaged at the strategic reserve oil depot 'Temp' in the Yaroslavl region of the Russian Federation.

The importance of logistics in military operations

These strikes indicate the continuation of active military actions from both sides and highlight the importance of logistics for military operations. Damaging critically important infrastructure objects can significantly affect the capability of Russian troops to conduct further combat actions.

In the context of the conflict, such strikes may be part of a broader strategy of Ukraine aimed at weakening the military capabilities of the enemy.
