Operation of the Defense Forces of Ukraine
The Defense Forces of Ukraine struck drilling rigs belonging to Lukoil in the Caspian Sea, the Buk-M3 air defense system in the Luhansk region, and a Russian submarine in Novorossiysk. This special operation became a significant event, demonstrating the effectiveness of Ukrainian forces in resisting aggression.
Strikes Delivered and Their Results
In particular, as a result of the strikes, three Lukoil drilling rigs were hit, including:
- the Filanovsky rig
- the Yury Korchagin rig
- the Valeriy Grayfer rig
A launch unit of the Buk-M3 air defense system was also destroyed in the Baranicheve area, indicating active actions by Ukrainian military forces in combating enemy positions. Additionally, a strike was delivered on the supply depot of the 49th army of the occupiers in Novotroyitske, emphasizing the precision of the attacks.
An important element of the operation was an SBU special operation that took place over 2000 km away in the Mediterranean Sea. Within this special operation, a tanker of the 'shadow fleet' of the Russian Federation was struck by drones, reflecting new approaches to warfare. It was also recorded that a Russian submarine of the Varshavyanka class was destroyed in the port of Novorossiysk, where four launch units of Caliber cruise missiles were located on board.
This operation targeting the submarine marked the first in history using underwater drones, Sub Sea Baby. Long-range SBU drones hit Lukoil-Nizhnevolzhskneft oil production platforms for the third time, underlining the strategic importance of these attacks in diminishing the resource capabilities of the enemy.
This operation demonstrates the increasing potential of Ukrainian forces in modern warfare, particularly through the use of advanced technologies such as underwater drones. Successful strikes on key Russian infrastructure targets can significantly impact the resource supply of the aggressor and enhance Ukraine's defense capability in the context of a prolonged conflict. Such actions may also signal to the international community the need to support Ukraine in its struggle for independence and territorial integrity.
