Ukrainian Defense Forces Launch Major Strikes on Russian Refineries and Airfields

Сили оборони України завдають потужних ударів по російським нафтопереробним заводам та аеродромам.

Operations by Ukraine's Defense Forces

Between July 10 and 11, units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces carried out strikes against Russian military targets. These operations hit several strategic sites, including:

  • The Kalmiuske combined-arms training ground near Dokuchayevsk in Donetsk Oblast;
  • Enemy drone control points near Krysanove in Belgorod Oblast and Pershotravneve in Zaporizhzhia Oblast;
  • Concentration areas for enemy personnel in Horlivka, Donetsk Oblast, and Karyzh, Kursk Oblast.

On the night of July 11, a strike was also conducted against Russian watercraft in the Sea of Azov.

Results of Previous Strikes

Updated assessments have been released for strikes that occurred in June and July 2026. Key details include:

  • On June 27, estimated direct damage from the strike on the Titan-Barricades plant in Volgograd reached approximately $105 million;
  • On July 4, a strike on the St. Petersburg Oil Terminal damaged two RVS-3000 tanks, four RVS-10000 tanks, one RVS-15000 tank, one RVS-20000 tank, a process pipeline trestle, and other equipment;
  • On July 6, a hit was recorded on the AVT-6 unit at the Slavneft-YANOS refinery in Yaroslavl, damaging pipelines of the AVT-1 and AVT-3 units;
  • On July 8, a strike on the Borisoglebsk airfield in Voronezh Oblast caused a fire involving 28 aviation fuel tanks with a total volume of 1,600 cubic meters;
  • That same day, a delayed coking unit at the TAIF-NK refinery in Nizhnekamsk caught fire, along with damage to cable trays, pipelines, and technical buildings;
  • The most recent strike on July 10 targeted the Ilsky refinery in Krasnodar Krai, igniting the AT-5 and AT-6 units and damaging pipelines, with fires breaking out near the AT-2 and AT-3 units.

These operations highlight the Ukrainian Defense Forces' active response to threats from the Russian Federation.

The strikes carried out by Ukrainian forces underscore Ukraine's ongoing efforts to strengthen its defensive capabilities and dismantle enemy military infrastructure. Targeting strategic assets such as oil terminals and training grounds is aimed at reducing Russia's ability to conduct combat operations. This level of activity could shape the broader trajectory of the conflict and influence the strategies of both sides moving forward.
