Operation of the Ukrainian Defense Forces
On January 6, 2023, the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck military targets on the territory of the Russian Federation and occupied areas. As part of the operation, the 'Gercon Plus' fuel depot in the Lipetsk region was hit.
In addition, three drone control points located in:
- Pokrovsk in Donetsk;
- Valetovka in the Kursk region;
- Grayvoron in the Belgorod region.
A radar station of the S-300V anti-aircraft missile system, 9S32, was also destroyed in the area of Novoyanisol. Moreover, a strike was conducted on a concentration of enemy personnel in the area of Staroselye in the Belgorod region.
Impact on the Conflict
These actions have become part of the Ukrainian forces’ efforts to counter aggression and ensure national security. Strikes on military objects in Russia indicate an intensification of Ukrainian efforts to counter threats from the aggressor, as well as a desire to eliminate the infrastructure that supports the enemy's military operations.
Such actions could influence the course of the conflict by increasing pressure on Russian military forces and strengthening Ukraine's positions in the region.
