Military Facilities Under Attack
In the early hours of January 22, Ukrainian defense forces launched strikes against a series of military targets in temporarily occupied Crimea, Kherson, and Donetsk oblasts, as well as the Tamanneftegaz oil terminal in Russia's Krasnodar Krai. The attack on the terminal, located in the settlement of Volna, resulted in confirmed hits, explosions, and a fire. These operations are part of a broader effort to degrade Russian military logistics and capabilities behind the front lines.
Strike Targets Detailed
In addition to the oil terminal, several radar stations in Crimea were hit, including:
- 59N6-E Protivnik-GE
- 55Zh6 Nebo-U
- 55Zh6M Nebo-M
A storage facility for unmanned aerial vehicles in the temporarily occupied part of Kherson Oblast was also struck. In Donetsk Oblast, Ukrainian forces targeted a company command and observation post of the 76th Guards Air Assault Division and a concentration of personnel from the 74th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade.
Further confirmation was received of a successful strike on an ammunition depot belonging to the 101st Separate Logistics Brigade in the city of Debaltseve, which triggered secondary detonations. These strikes come amid heightened tensions; on January 21, Krasnodar Krai Governor Veniamin Kondratyev claimed the region had been under sustained attack for a second day. Targeting such critical infrastructure is a key tactic for disrupting enemy supply lines and command structures.
