- Friday, 7 August: Heavy downpours, hail and squalls of up to 22 m/s are expected in the west, north and parts of central Ukraine, while the Left Bank of the Dnieper remains mostly dry. Daytime temperatures will be +33...+38 °C.
- Saturday, 8 August: Thunderstorm rains will cover most of the country, except the west. In the north and west temperatures ease to +27...+32 °C, but other regions may still reach +38 °C.
- Sunday, 9 August: Most areas will see no precipitation. In the north and west, overnight lows drop to +10...+15 °C and daytime highs settle at +26...+31 °C; elsewhere, daytime temperatures will be +28...+33 °C.
“In the coming days, a hot and dry subtropical air mass will shape the weather across the country,” said Ihor Kibalchych.
The weekend cold front is expected to bring relief from the heat, as Kibalchych explained: “So the first working week of August is likely to be the hottest stretch of this summer.”
