Weather forecasters predict a difficult weather situation on Thursday, August 22, when a significant part of Ukraine will be under the influence of atmospheric fronts.
According to the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, rain will fall overnight and in the morning in six western regions of the country. Specifically, Zakarpattia, Lviv, Prykarpattia, as well as Volyn, Rivne, and Zhytomyr regions will be under rain.
In the afternoon, thunderstorms will spread to central and southern regions. Meteorologists also expect thunderstorms in nine regions: Kyiv, Chernihiv, Sumy, Vinnytsia, Cherkasy, Poltava, Kirovohrad, Odesa, and Mykolaiv.
Special attention is drawn to the fact that in certain areas of these regions, thunderstorms will be accompanied by hail and wind gusts of 15-20 meters per second.
Thunderstorms, potential hail, and strong winds are also expected in the Kyiv region. Meteorologists warn that thunderstorm activity will not spare the capital.
Due to deteriorating weather conditions, the first level of meteorological danger has been declared in the Kyiv region, marked in yellow on the warning system.
In this regard, citizens are urged to be cautious and avoid staying in open areas during thunderstorms.
According to meteorologists, bad weather is expected almost across the entire territory of Ukraine on Thursday. Intense rains and thunderstorms may be accompanied by hail and strong winds in many regions. Residents are urged to be careful and follow the meteorologists' warnings.
