The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Colonel-General Oleksandr Syrsky, announced important changes in the basic general military training (BGMT), highlighting its critical role for the resilience of the Ukrainian troops. The BGMT course will now last 51 days with an updated program that allows more time for training in countering strike drones, fire and engineering training, as well as survival skills in trench conditions.

"The quality of training is the foundation of the resilience of our troops, and this area of activity of the Armed Forces must remain a priority for us," emphasized Syrsky.

The General Staff also updated the program for the adaptation and retraining of military personnel transitioning from training centers to combat units. This has been done to ensure flexibility and rapid implementation of innovation. The improvements specifically include increasing the qualifications of servicemen, particularly in light vehicles.

"People are the main thing. Their training, their safety, their lives. The better the training of our warriors, the more protected they will be, and so will our entire country," emphasized Syrsky.
