Olena Yarova, an expert in financial literacy, noted that Ukrainians need to have at least 15-20 thousand hryvnias per month for each person to be able to ensure the necessary living conditions. According to her, a lower income will not allow covering basic expenses.

In addition, a large part of the family budget goes to housing and food expenses. Even homeowners have to pay for utilities and necessary furniture for the home.

Families with children need even more money – in such cases, each working adult should earn at least 20 thousand hryvnias per month.

For a comfortable life, Ukrainians need to have an income of 30 thousand hryvnias. However, most of the population receives only 15-16 thousand hryvnias per month.

'Half of working Ukrainians earn less than they spend on basic needs. This explains why many people complain that even with a high salary, they have to live paycheck to paycheck,' explained Yarova.

The expert recommends avoiding loans as a tool to solve financial problems, as regular payments can become a heavy burden and lead to a debt trap that is very hard to escape.

The Ukrainian financial literacy expert revealed that living in Ukraine requires at least 15-20 thousand hryvnias per month for one person to meet basic needs. Most of the country's population, receiving only half of this amount, faces financial challenges and difficulties in covering basic expenses.
