Zaporizhzhia Schoolgirl Targeted in Recruitment Attempt
A 16-year-old high school student in Zaporizhzhia received a suspicious job offer via messenger from an unknown sender calling himself Oleg, alias 'The Punisher.' The message urged her to participate in activities directed against Ukrainian law enforcement, officials, and judges. This incident highlights how Russian intelligence services are attempting to radicalize and recruit young Ukrainians, even far from the front lines.
The schoolgirl decided to report the situation to the police. For her courage, she was awarded an honorary certificate from the patrol police and received gifts from the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU). This is the first such case recorded at this particular educational institution. The SBU emphasized that being a minor does not exempt one from criminal liability for collaborating with the enemy.
SBU Campaign and Enemy Activity
The Security Service of Ukraine is running a campaign called 'Burn the FSB Agent,' aimed at identifying and neutralizing Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) operatives within Ukraine. As part of this effort, a 24-year-old foreign FSB agent was detained in Chernivtsi while attempting to destroy equipment at an electrical substation. Another detained FSB agent was the head of a medical unit in a combat brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Critically, the message sent to the student contained specific proposals for committing crimes against the state. 'They offered to do something for money,' the student commented on the situation.
This case demonstrates not only the enemy's active efforts to involve youth in illegal activities but also the vital importance of proactive action by citizens. The student's response and her decision to contact law enforcement set an example of civic responsibility that can prevent further criminal acts. The situation also underscores the necessity of continuing security campaigns designed to detect and counter hostile elements on Ukrainian territory.
