Ukraine Launches Health Screening Program with Cash Incentive for Citizens Over 40

В Україні розпочато програму медичного обстеження з фінансовими заохоченнями для людей старше 40 років.

Health Screening 40+ Program Launched

A new national initiative in Ukraine, the Health Screening 40+ program, offers citizens a medical check-up along with a financial reward for participation. This program is part of a broader effort to encourage preventative healthcare. Starting January 31, invitations will be sent via the government's Diia app, with notifications linked to the user's date of birth to inform them of their eligibility for the screening.

In 2026, a reminder notification will appear in the Diia app 30 days after a user's birthday. Once participants confirm their involvement and complete the required medical procedures, they will automatically receive a payment of 2,000 hryvnias. These funds will be credited to their Diia.Card within a few days.

Alternative Participation Method

For those who do not use the Diia app, an alternative method is available. Participants can open a special bank card and then, 30 days after their birthday, apply at a Center for Administrative Services (TsNAP) to receive the financial incentive. This ensures the program is accessible to a wider population, promoting medical screenings and motivating citizens to take proactive care of their health.

The introduction of the Health Screening 40+ program represents a significant step toward improving public health in Ukraine, particularly for older adults. Given that disease prevention is crucial for reducing long-term treatment costs, the initiative has the potential to substantially impact citizen well-being and lessen the burden on the national healthcare system. The convenience of using the Diia app is a key feature designed to increase public engagement in actively monitoring their personal health.
