Launch of the 'Health Screening 40+' program
Starting January 1, 2026, Ukraine will launch the 'Health Screening 40+' program, which will allow Ukrainians aged 40 and over to identify the risks of chronic diseases. UAH 10 billion has been allocated for the implementation of this program, aimed at improving early diagnosis and the overall health condition of the population.
The screening will include:
- physical examination;
- questionnaires;
- laboratory tests.
These procedures will allow potential diseases to be detected at early stages. Participants of the program will receive invitations in the 'Diia' application 30 days after their birthday. In addition, they will be able to receive UAH 2,000 to pay for the screening 7 days after ordering the card.
Goal of the program and its significance
In Ukraine, over 1.3 million people have diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases in 2025 remain the cause of one in five cases of disability. The 'Health Screening 40+' program aims to reduce these indicators through timely diagnosis and treatment. Screening will be available in public, communal, or private medical facilities, ensuring accessibility of examinations for all interested.
Thus, the new initiative aims to raise awareness among Ukrainians about their health and promote the detection of diseases at early stages, which is key to successful treatment.
The implementation of the 'Health Screening 40+' program is an important step in the fight against chronic diseases that significantly affect the quality of life of the population.
Since most diseases that often lead to disability can be detected at early stages, this program can significantly improve the overall health of Ukraine, reducing the burden on the healthcare system and improving people's lives. The involvement of modern technologies, such as the 'Diia' application, also emphasizes the commitment to the digitalization of medical services and improving their accessibility for citizens.
