Former captain of Serbian 'Crvena Zvezda' Dejan Milovanovic passed away on the evening of September 16 in Belgrade at the age of 42. This was reported by 'Glavkom' citing Sport Klubi.

Milovanovic felt unwell during a veterans' match of 'Crvena Zvezda'. The footballer scored a goal in the 7th minute and then, while preparing to take a corner kick, fainted and fell to the ground.

An ambulance crew arrived quite promptly and was able to resuscitate the footballer, after which he was taken to the hospital. However, there his heart stopped again, unable to withstand a double heart attack.

As reported, Yuri Bredak (call sign 'Clever') was killed at the front – a titled Ukrainian rower.

Bredak died on June 23, 2025. He was a well-known athlete – a master of sports in rowing, a multiple prize-winner of the Ukrainian championships, representing the capital at the national and world levels.

The tragic death of the former captain of 'Crvena Zvezda' and the Ukrainian rower during sports events once again highlights the risks that athletes may face even in peacetime.
