Conscript's Tragic Death in Lviv Region

A conscript, I. Volovetskyi, died tragically inside the Yavoriv District Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center (RTCK and SP) in the Lviv region. According to the center, the cause of death was alcohol poisoning. The incident occurred on February 2nd. This event highlights ongoing concerns about conditions at military recruitment facilities across Ukraine.

At 9:30 AM, servicemen stopped a man who was wanted and lacked identification documents. He was in a state of intoxication. A police officer brought Volovetskyi to the Yavoriv RTCK and SP by 10:00 AM. Later, at 1:42 PM, he fell ill in a rest room. An ambulance was called at 1:43 PM, but doctors pronounced him dead at 1:48 PM. The death occurred with no signs of physical violence, and an autopsy confirmed alcohol poisoning as the cause.

Other Incidents at Recruitment Centers

This case is not an isolated incident at territorial recruitment centers. In Kyiv, a 43-year-old mobilized soldier died at a TCC distribution point. In the town of Pulyny, Zhytomyr region, conscript Oleksandr Revutskyi died after visiting a TCC. Furthermore, in Lviv, a local resident stabbed a 47-year-old serviceman from the Halytskyi-Frankivskyi ORTCK and SP during a document check near a shopping mall. Law enforcement officers detained the attacker.

Thus, the incident involving Volovetskyi underscores serious problems arising in the context of the work of territorial recruitment centers.

Law enforcement has opened a criminal investigation, indicating the seriousness of the situation.

This case raises concerns about the safety and health of conscripts at territorial centers where they undergo recruitment procedures. The need to improve conditions and provide medical services in such institutions is becoming increasingly urgent, given recent incidents that point to potential systemic shortcomings. It is crucial for the relevant authorities to take measures to prevent similar tragedies in the future.
