Crash Occurs Near Sokyrnytsi Village
A 59-year-old man driving a Seat Ibiza was killed in a collision with a tractor-trailer near the village of Sokyrnytsi in the Vinnytsia district on March 4. The accident occurred around 7:30 a.m., and the driver of the car died at the scene. Road safety remains a significant concern across Ukraine, with infrastructure and enforcement challenges often cited as contributing factors.
The police of Vinnytsia Oblast are investigating the circumstances and causes of the traffic accident. A criminal proceeding has been initiated under Part 2 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
"As a result of the collision, the 59-year-old driver of the Seat Ibiza died at the scene. There is no information about injuries to other participants in the accident," law enforcement officials stated.
Other Traffic Incidents in Vinnytsia Oblast
This is not an isolated incident in the region. Near the village of Tucha, another fatal accident claimed a driver's life. In Tulchyn, a collision between two cars trapped a 62-year-old driver and a 48-year-old passenger inside one of the vehicles. Separately, in the city of Vinnytsia, an 18-year-old driver struck three pedestrians at an unregulated crosswalk.
The rising number of traffic accidents in Vinnytsia Oblast points to serious road safety issues. Police are actively investigating these incidents, which may lead to new safety measures and enhanced traffic law enforcement.
