Criminal Case Launched Following Fatal Collision in Khmilnyk District

Police have initiated a criminal investigation into a deadly traffic accident that occurred on April 15 in the Khmilnyk district of the Vinnytsia region. The evening collision happened on the M-21 highway near the village of Peremoga, involving a Renault truck driven by a 71-year-old man and a bus with a 60-year-old driver. Road safety remains a significant challenge in Ukraine, where infrastructure and vehicle conditions vary widely.

The truck driver died at the scene from his injuries. Three others were hurt and hospitalized, including two truck passengers, aged 38 and 43, and the bus driver. Fortunately, all 15 bus passengers, four of whom were children, escaped unharmed.

Separately, Kyiv has seen other serious traffic incidents. In the Obolon district, a crash involving three cars was caused by a 51-year-old driver of a Porsche who was heavily intoxicated. Furthermore, on April 13, a major accident occurred on the Stolytsne Highway when a garbage truck driver lost control, sending the vehicle into a metal barrier. In a separate incident, Ukrainian actor Taras Tsymbaliuk was also involved in a crash in Kyiv.
