The Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Oleksii Reznikov, held a phone conversation with the Minister of Defense of Sweden, Paul Johnson, during which they discussed the delivery of Gripen fighter jets to the Ukrainian army. Reznikov emphasized Ukraine's readiness to train pilots and personnel for these aircraft.
“We are preparing to start training Ukrainian pilots and technical personnel,” the minister stressed.
It is worth mentioning that on Tuesday, Ukrainian F-16 aircraft effectively repelled a massive aerial attack from Russia. Reznikov expressed gratitude to Sweden for their cooperation and support, and voiced hope for further partnership in strengthening Ukraine's aviation capabilities.
“I noted Sweden's significant contribution to strengthening our aviation capabilities. I am grateful for this. We expect further close cooperation in this area,” the minister noted.
Sweden is also planning to provide a new support package for Ukraine in the field of air defense, which is an important step for protecting Ukraine's sky and the lives of peaceful residents.
