Shmyhal: there will be no sharp reduction of the Armed Forces after the war

Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal stated during the presentation of the government's Action Program that the army will not experience abrupt reductions after the war ends. Negotiations about the future model of the Ukrainian army and joint funding are being conducted by the government together with international partners.



Optimal number of troops for the defense of Europe and NATO


Denys Shmyhal reported that calculations are underway to determine the optimal number of troops needed to ensure effective protection of eastern Ukraine and NATO interests. Any decision regarding the possible reduction of troops will be made prudently and solely based on calculated options.
