Minister of Defense Denys Shmyhal proposed New Zealand to participate in the rehabilitation program for released Ukrainian soldiers. He made this statement during a meeting with New Zealand's Minister of Defense Judith Collins and the Chief of the New Zealand Defense Force, Air Marshal Tony Davies.
On cooperation in the defense sector
'I suggested New Zealand participate in financing rehabilitation programs for released Ukrainian soldiers and civilians. We also greatly appreciate the involvement of New Zealand instructors in the Interflex training program for Ukrainian soldiers,'
said Denys Shmyhal.
The parties discussed the priorities of bilateral cooperation in the defense sphere. In particular, Ukraine's Minister of Defense proposed considering cooperation possibilities in the production of maritime drones. During the negotiations, the head of Ukraine's Ministry of Defense thanked New Zealand for assistance in countering Russia's shadow fleet. He also urged partners to continue and intensify sanctions pressure on the aggressor, particularly regarding the seizure of frozen Russian assets.
The Minister of Defense of Ukraine proposed New Zealand cooperate in the rehabilitation program for soldiers, discussed the training of Ukrainian soldiers, and cooperation in the production of maritime drones. Gratitude was also expressed for assistance in countering Russia's shadow fleet and a call for continued sanctions against the aggressor.
