Social Taxi Service in Kyiv Region
A 'Social Taxi' program is now operating across 25 territorial communities in the Kyiv region. This initiative is proving essential, with an average of approximately 700 rides provided each month. Its primary goal is to offer convenient and accessible transportation for people with disabilities and other individuals with limited mobility. Such services are a key part of modern social infrastructure, helping vulnerable residents maintain independence.
Eligibility and Booking Conditions
The service is available to individuals with category I and II disabilities, children with disabilities, and people with musculoskeletal, visual, or hearing impairments, as well as other mobility-limited groups. Rides must be booked in advance, with a required notice of at least 24 hours. The service is provided either free of charge or at a subsidized rate, depending on the specific community's policy.
As of May last year, the 'Social Taxi' was active in 12 territorial communities, with plans to expand to an additional 10 by the end of that year. The communities currently implementing the service include:
