Social benefits for the disabled will increase in 2026: new sizes of assistance

Підвищення соціальних виплат для осіб з інвалідністю наблизиться до нових стандартів у 2026 році.

Changes in social payments for persons with disabilities in Ukraine

Social payments for persons with disabilities in Ukraine will increase from January 1, 2026. This increase is related to the rise in the minimum living wage for pensioners, which will be 2595 hryvnias. According to the new changes, the amount of assistance for disabled individuals from different groups will be reviewed.

  • Assistance for individuals with first group disabilities will increase from 15346.50 to 16867.50 hryvnias.
  • For individuals in the second group, assistance will increase from 12395.25 to 13623.75 hryvnias.
  • Payments for disabled individuals in the third group will amount to 9342 hryvnias, which is an increase compared to the previous 8499.60 hryvnias.
  • For veterans and combatants aged 85 and over, assistance will be provided at 650% of the minimum living wage, which in 2026 will be 16867.50 hryvnias.

In addition, in 2026, a March indexation of pensions for all categories of pensioners is planned. An age supplement will also be introduced for citizens over 70 years old whose pensions do not exceed 10340.35 hryvnias. It is worth noting that disability pensions are awarded if the insurance experience is from one to fifteen years.

Social justice and support for vulnerable groups

These changes are aimed at improving the material provision for persons with disabilities and supporting their social protection in Ukraine.

The planned increases in social payments are an important step towards social justice and supporting vulnerable groups of the population. In the context of the economic challenges that the country is experiencing, such changes can significantly ease the financial situation of persons with disabilities and their families. Moreover, the indexation of pensions and new supplements for elderly citizens will also contribute to improving the overall standard of living in Ukraine.
