From July 1, 2025, the internal administration of social benefits received by Ukrainians will be managed by the Pension Fund of Ukraine. According to the Ministry of Health's announcement, the management of the processes for appointing and paying benefits is transferred from social protection authorities to the Pension Fund.
The Pension Fund of Ukraine has been empowered to appoint and pay state social assistance, in particular: state social assistance to individuals without pension rights or with disabilities, state social assistance for care, funeral assistance, etc. After conducting an expert assessment, the decision on disability status is formed in the electronic system for assessing everyday functioning.
In July 2025, the internal administration of social benefits in Ukraine was transferred to the Pension Fund. Now, the Pension Fund is responsible for appointing and paying state social assistance to various population groups, which simplifies the process of receiving assistance for Ukrainians.
