Today in Ukraine, the Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Holodomors is observed. This memorial date is significant for all Ukrainians, reminding them of the tragic events in the country's history. On this day, we honor the memory of millions who fell victim to the Holodomor of 1932–1933 and the mass artificial famines of 1921–1923 and 1946–1947.
The totalitarian communist regime led by the Soviet Union perpetrated genocide against the Ukrainian people, using terror and repression to undermine Ukrainian identity. This tragedy is remembered even today, as the memory of the past helps prevent similar crimes in the future.
The extermination policies of Russia in the past and present leave Ukraine no opportunity to forget the tragedies that occurred. The world's solidarity with Ukraine helps preserve the memory of the victims and supports the country in its struggle for independence and security.
Light a candle in memory of the fallen, join a moment of silence – these are ways to honor the memory and show that such tragedies must not be repeated. May human dignity and respect for the individual always remain at the center of everyone's attention.
