On December 6, 1991, laws were enacted that laid the foundation for the formation and development of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. For more than thirty years, the Ukrainian army has gone through a difficult path and has become a strong force, demonstrating its military might in the world.

The Revolution of Dignity and the Russian invasion in 2014 were decisive moments in the history of the Ukrainian army. The Armed Forces and volunteers stopped the occupation and liberated part of the captured territories, proving their ability to resist in harsh conditions.
