Ukraine buys 100 Rafale fighters from France: deal details

Україна уклала угоду на придбання ста винищувачів Rafale у Франції: подробиці співпраці.

Today, the Ukrainian president signed an agreement with the president of France on cooperation in the field of defense equipment. According to this agreement, Ukraine will have the opportunity to purchase military equipment from French manufacturers. Among the possible equipment are 100 Rafale F4 aircraft, missiles, radars, and more.

The agreement also provides for joint projects between the defense sectors of both countries, including the joint production of interceptor drones and the development of technologies for Ukrainian drones. This is aimed at strengthening the armed forces of Ukraine and its army.

Today is a significant moment, truly historical for both of our countries - France and Ukraine. Together with Emmanuel Macron, we signed a Declaration of Intent on cooperation regarding the acquisition of equipment for the defense of Ukraine. This document allows Ukraine to purchase military equipment from the French defense base, including 100 Rafale F4 aircraft by 2035 for the combat aviation of Ukraine, SAMP/T air defense systems, radars for air defense systems, air-to-air missiles, and aerial bombs. Joint projects between our defense sectors will also begin this year - we will jointly produce interceptor drones and work on developing critical technologies and components that can be integrated into Ukrainian drones. New airplanes, new reinforcements, new steps to strengthen our army and our country. I am sincerely grateful to France, President Emmanuel Macron, and all the French people.

The signing of the agreement between France and Ukraine will be an important step in strengthening Ukraine's defense capabilities and improving cooperation between countries in the defense sector. It reflects France's overall support for Ukraine in the context of the escalating security situation in the region.
