Today, the Verkhovna Rada adopted important legislative changes that provide social guarantees for the families of police officers who went missing under special circumstances while performing their official duties.
According to the Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko, the family members of police officers who went missing under special circumstances will now receive the following guarantees:
- free medical services in the healthcare institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs
- free sanatorium and resort treatment
- non-competitive admission of children to higher educational institutions, vocational pre-higher and professional education
- all other benefits, guarantees, and compensations provided by current legislation

This bill was developed by the Ministry of Internal Affairs in cooperation with the National Police and processed together with the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on law enforcement issues to restore justice and ensure the necessary assistance to the families of police officers.
The adoption of the law on social guarantees for families of police officers is an important step in providing support for those who risk their lives in service. This initiative aims to ensure decent conditions for the families and children of police officers who went missing while performing their official duties.
