Music remains one of Zhenya Halich's sources of income, but it is not the only one: he receives royalties, sells merchandise, performs at private events, works as a creative director, and develops a business with his comrades. Previously, the artist also participated in concert projects of other bands. He told this in an interview with Alina Dorotyuk.
How Zhenya Halich makes money
Among his sources of income, Halich named commercial contracts, royalties for music, merchandise sales, and private performances. He can be invited solo to intimate events, without the O.Torvald band: for example, to play at a wedding or birthday.
«This is an awesome performance format», — said the musician.
According to him, the band is currently trying not to play large corporate events, and there have been fewer orders for such concerts. For music to bring a stable income, it is necessary to regularly release new songs and update the merchandise assortment.
Halich also works as a music producer and creates music for other artists. Another area is creative work at a large company, where he is hired to develop ideas. How much he earns in each of these fields was not clarified in the conversation.
What veteran business the musician is developing
Together with his commander and comrades, Halich created a small company called Forbrey. The team works with coffee and manufactures flagpoles with flags. According to the artist, the company has five people who are trying to develop their own business after service.
«We need to ensure that comrades do not forget about each other», — Halich explained.
His story shows that veteran entrepreneurship can become a common cause and a source of employment for former military personnel. In Ukraine, there are support programs for veteran businesses for such initiatives.
The artist combines several roles: solo performer, member of O.Torvald, producer, creative director, and entrepreneur. Additional opportunities for veteran entrepreneurs are also offered by the educational-grant program.
