Ukrainians have been shown the prices of watermelons and melons in supermarkets and at markets at the beginning of August. With the arrival of August, Ukrainians are flocking to seasonal treats - juicy watermelons and aromatic melons. At the height of the watermelon season, buyers are increasingly comparing prices at different points of sale, as the price difference can be quite significant.
Price analysis shows a significant difference between supermarkets and markets. In chain stores, watermelons are sold at prices ranging from 16.70 to 56.70 UAH per kilogram depending on the variety and origin. In Kyiv markets, the situation is radically different. A Ukrainian watermelon can be purchased for only 10.00-18.00 UAH per kilogram, which is almost twice cheaper than prices in supermarkets. Imported watermelons at the market cost 20.00-30.00 UAH/kg, which is also significantly more advantageous than chain store offers. Melons at markets are sold for 26.00-55.00 UAH per kilogram, making them more accessible to the average buyer.
We remind you that prices for the popular berry have dropped by a third.
In August, Ukrainians actively buy watermelons and melons, comparing prices in supermarkets and at markets. It turns out that at markets, products are almost twice cheaper than in chain stores. This difference allows for savings and purchasing more seasonal treats at more affordable prices.
