Clash Between SoloKha and Hennadii Viter

Ukrainian singer SoloKha has accused Hennadii Viter, the head producer of the show "Music Platform," of demanding payment in exchange for her participation. According to the artist, the requested amount was roughly $5,000. She claims that after she refused to pay, her performance was cut from the broadcast.

Viter, however, defended the show's funding model, confirming that "Music Platform" is a commercial project that receives no state or television network financing. He explained that his team raises money independently.

"Who invests in this project? The viewer, who buys tickets with their own money for specific artists. The artists whose names prompt viewers to purchase those tickets. Sorry, but we have no requests for singer SoloKha," the producer stated.

Reactions and Ethical Questions

Viter acknowledged that the unpleasant incident with the singer did occur. He noted that SoloKha's performance had been filmed, but sponsorship agreements were canceled on the day of the concert.

"After that, the team decided: we will not work with singer SoloKha, and her number will not air," Viter reported.
The producer added that the singer had thrown tantrums at him and that her husband later called him.

SoloKha maintains that artists should not have to pay to appear on the show. Viter countered that truly talented people don't look for reasons to create scandals: "I honestly don't know any hits by singer SoloKha, but I always know that this person loves conflict."

Notably, the next "Music Platform" event is scheduled for June 26 at V’YAVA Garden, where audiences will see whether SoloKha performs.

This dispute highlights the tensions between artists and producers in commercial projects where funding and popularity are critical. The clash between SoloKha and Viter could impact both parties' reputations and set a precedent for how artists engage with similar shows. It also raises ethical concerns about requiring financial contributions from performers, sparking debate within the entertainment industry.

The ongoing debate surrounding artist compensation in the entertainment industry is not new. Recently, Vyacheslav Solomka offered a critical perspective on Tina Karol, highlighting similar concerns about stagnation and the pressures artists face in maintaining relevance. Such discussions underscore the complexities within commercial projects, where the balance between artistic integrity and financial demands often leads to public disputes.
