Solomka Weighs In on Olya Polyakova's Creative Shift

TV host Solomka has shared his thoughts on the latest artistic transformation of Ukrainian singer Olya Polyakova, who recently unveiled her new alter ego, TheNogi, performing under the stage name Izolda Roth. Solomka praised Polyakova's newfound directness and provocative edge, noting that her words strike a chord with the public mood.

“You know what’s missing? Who’s going to tell people the truth? Right now, people are on edge. They’re stretched thin like a steel cable. We’re waiting for someone to finally speak the truth,” Solomka remarked.

Polyakova's New Musical Direction

TheNogi represents a distinct musical venture for Olya Polyakova, defined by the genre 'stervopop' (a bold, sassy pop style). Solomka emphasized that in this new guise, Polyakova has become even more striking, as “she’s the first to step out and speak bluntly through music.” The debut single, titled 'Ne na Chasi' (Not the Time), serves as a provocative lead track for her upcoming album, scheduled for release on June 10, 2026. The album will feature ten tracks.

Polyakova has signed a contract with the British label State 51, signaling her ambition to reach audiences beyond Ukraine. She is actively recording new songs at a studio in London, underscoring her serious commitment to this project. Solomka noted that many artists have adopted alter egos over the years, including:

  • Beyoncé (Sasha Fierce)
  • Lady Gaga (Jo Calderone)
  • Eminem (Slim Shady)
  • Nicki Minaj (Roman Zolanski)

“You’re all fed up. It’s time to live, time to love, time to take a break,” Solomka quoted Polyakova, highlighting how her new persona captures the current societal sentiment. He believes Polyakova has the potential to become an even bigger star in the Ukrainian entertainment industry, stating that “a queen must be refined,” yet “you can’t do without a princess.”

In essence, Olya Polyakova's creative evolution and her new alter ego, TheNogi, reflect her career growth and desire to adapt to the demands of today’s music market. Her partnership with an international label underscores her ambition to step onto the global stage. So far, the reception to her new image and music has been positive, suggesting she could have a significant impact on Ukrainian music culture.

As Olya Polyakova continues to explore her bold new artistic direction, it's worth noting her recent foray into the 18+ genre with the launch of her provocative 'Bitch-Pop' project. This venture not only showcases her evolution as an artist but also highlights her ambition to capture a wider audience, particularly in the UK. With such daring moves, Polyakova is clearly redefining her place in the music industry.
