SpaceX Sets a Fresh Milestone in Reusable Rocketry
On August 26, 2026, SpaceX lofted 29 Starlink satellites into orbit atop a Falcon 9 rocket launched from Cape Canaveral, Florida. The flight was the 100th Falcon 9 mission of 2026, and its reusable first stage, B1067, established a new worldwide mark for the most successful missions by a single booster.
Approximately eight and a half minutes after liftoff, the booster landed on the autonomous droneship A Shortfall of Gravitas in the Atlantic Ocean. The upper stage then delivered all 29 satellites to low Earth orbit about an hour into the mission. This was the 77th Starlink deployment flight of 2026, helping the growing constellation pass 11,000 operational satellites.

Earlier in 2026, SpaceX carried out a Falcon Heavy test and completed two suborbital verification flights of its Starship system. The next Starship launch, now planned for early to mid-September, will be the program's first attempt at reaching full orbit.
