Currently, Belarus is not forming strike groups that could pose a threat to Ukraine, but the border direction with this country remains potentially dangerous. For this reason, Ukraine is strengthening security measures at the border with Belarus. This was stated by the spokesman of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, Andrey Demchenko.
Demchenko emphasized that Ukraine is closely monitoring the situation in Belarus, especially in connection with the upcoming exercises of this country with Russia, scheduled for September. He also noted that the defensive direction with Belarus may pose a threat to Ukraine during both active and passive phases of joint military exercises. Therefore, Ukraine continues to reinforce security measures in this area, particularly by developing engineering equipment at the border.
During the active phases of the exercises, the threat to Ukraine may increase. The spokesman also did not rule out the possibility of provocations or other destabilizing actions at the border with Belarus during this period.
Ukraine is enhancing its defensive measures at the border with Belarus due to the potential danger that Belarus's exercises with Russia may create. The direction with Belarus is considered critical, so the Ukrainian military continues to raise the level of security, particularly at the border of our country.
