Aggression can arise from instability in one's own beliefs. Hatred, in turn, is often a reflection of internal problems. It is important to understand this in order to avoid new crises in Ukraine. We need to become independent and empowered. We must stop seeing ourselves as defenders of the West. We must learn not to react to everything related to Russia as if it were a red rag. It is important to recognize that, like most European nations, the Ukrainian people were shaped during an empire, but that does not mean it should be reverted back.
Ukraine should develop its own path instead of seeking 'imperial imitation'. There is no need to rewrite history, as that indicates weakness. It is important to convince ourselves and the world that our goal is the prosperity of the country, not the destruction of others. True sovereignty means that Ukraine is an alternative to the 'Russian world', not just a copy of it. We need to understand that the path to sovereignty is complex, but it is the only one.
The path to sovereignty for Ukraine requires every citizen of the country and government structures to take a responsible and prudent approach. It is necessary to learn to see ourselves as an independent, strong nation with a unique history that has its own path of development and internal orientation. Perseverance, unity, and understanding the importance of sovereignty are key to successfully defending territorial integrity and peace in Ukraine.
