US Representatives at the Coalition of Willing Meeting

Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Donald Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner will represent the USA at the Coalition of Willing meeting, which will take place on January 6 in Paris. The meeting will discuss security guarantees for Ukraine in the context of the current geopolitical situation.

In December of last year, Witkoff and Kushner held a five-hour meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in the Kremlin, indicating active negotiations between the USA and Russia that have been ongoing since last autumn. In October, Witkoff also met with Kirill Dmitriev in Miami Beach, highlighting the ongoing dialogue between the parties.

American Peace Plan

The American peace plan being discussed at the negotiations has shrunk from 28 to 20 points. This process is accompanied by various assessments; in particular, former European Council President Donald Tusk noted that

“we know it's not about peace. It's about business.”

In Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelensky characterized the situation as 'constructive, albeit challenging.'

The Coalition of Willing meeting in Paris may become an important stage in shaping the international strategy for supporting Ukraine, especially amid the ongoing conflict. The interaction between the USA and Russia, backed by a series of meetings, indicates attempts to find compromise solutions, but unpredictable factors remain that could impact the outcomes of the negotiations. The next steps in this process could significantly influence stability in the region and the overall balance of power in the world.
