According to The New York Times economic policy reporter Alan Rappoport, the United States is prepared to take restorative measures against Russia, threatening it with 'complete collapse.'

US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent emphasized in his NBC interview that the United States is ready to intensify economic pressure on Russia, but this is only possible with the support of allies in Europe. The imposition of new sanctions and tariffs on countries importing oil from Russia could lead to an economic crash for the country and force Putin to come to the negotiating table.

'We are ready to increase pressure on Russia, but we need our European partners to support us,' said the head of the US Treasury.

According to the Associated Press, teams of European and American officials are set to discuss new ways to intensify economic pressure on Russia, including new sanctions, during this week. It is also known that Scott Bessent has already discussed this topic with the head of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen.

Ukraine and Western countries continue to seek ways to increase pressure on Russia, trying to force it to change its policy. The results of these measures could affect the situation in Ukraine and the international order as a whole.
