US Vice President Jay D. Vance announced a new diplomatic strategy from Washington to resolve the conflict in Ukraine. According to him, the US aims to achieve a peaceful settlement of the conflict, taking into account the current line of confrontation.
'We will try to find a negotiated solution that satisfies both Ukrainians and Russians,' Vance noted, adding that such a solution may not satisfy either side. Vance also emphasized that President Trump plays a key role in this diplomatic initiative.
A meeting is currently planned in the US between the presidents of Ukraine and Russia to discuss ending the war, the US Vice President reported.
For his part, the US Ambassador to NATO, Matt Whitaker, noted that any territorial issues should be resolved through negotiations. Despite condemning the Russian invasion, the main priority for the US is to establish peace in the region.
Vance called for negotiations and resolving the situation through diplomacy, emphasizing that this is the only way to achieve stability and peace in Ukraine.
