The USA invites Ukraine to negotiations after the meeting with Putin in Moscow
The American delegation positively assessed the results of the negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin that took place in Moscow. In this regard, the Ukrainian side was invited to the USA for continued consultations. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga confirmed that allies once again expressed their support for Ukraine's sovereignty during the NATO-Ukraine Council meeting held in Brussels.
The head of the Ukrainian delegation, Rustem Umerov, was in contact with the US President's special envoy Steve Witkoff during the meeting. Sybiga noted that, according to the American side, the talks in Moscow had a positive significance for the peace process. He also emphasized that
"our right to participate in any alliances, in any unions – cannot be restricted by a third country."
Support for Ukraine and the international coalition
During the NATO-Ukraine Council meeting, allies confirmed their support for Ukraine and discussed contributions and decisions by participating countries for Ukraine's defense. Sybiga called this meeting the most productive in this context. In addition, he noted that at the meeting, five more countries expressed a desire to join the PURL initiative.
The invitation for Ukraine to negotiations in the USA emphasizes the importance of international support for Ukrainian sovereignty amid the ongoing conflict with Russia. The positive assessment of the results of the meeting in Moscow indicates an attempt to find ways for a peaceful resolution of the situation, as well as an intensification of diplomatic efforts by the USA and its allies. This could be an important step towards strengthening the international coalition in support of Ukraine and improving its defense capabilities.
