Destruction of a Key Railway Bridge in Crimea
Ukraine's Special Operations Forces (SSO) announced the destruction of a railway bridge spanning the North Crimean Canal, located near the village of Rozdolne. The operation was carried out by the Middle Strike unit in coordination with underground members of the SSO Resistance Movement. During the night of June 22, drone strikes targeted the bridge, demolishing the railway track and collapsing one of its spans. The following night, on June 23, drones struck repair equipment and the remaining debris of the structure.
Strategic Impact of the Bridge's Demolition
This railway bridge was a critical component of enemy transport logistics, used to move supplies and military resources from Russia through Crimea and across the peninsula.
“The railway bridge over the North Crimean Canal in Crimea no longer exists,” the Special Operations Forces stated.
They added: “The Special Operations Forces continue to dismantle enemy military logistics, reducing both their offensive and defensive capabilities.”
Shortly after the bridge's destruction, resistance fighters reported that specialized railway repair equipment had arrived at the site, marking the beginning of the mission's second phase.
The elimination of this railway bridge represents a major milestone in the ongoing conflict, as it severely complicates the adversary's logistics, hindering the transfer of resources and support to military units stationed in Crimea.
