Emergency Response Team Holds Meeting
The emergency response team tasked with managing the aftermath of the power grid failure in Kyiv and the Kyiv region has concluded its meeting. Discussions focused on the ongoing issues in the Holosiivskyi and Shevchenkivskyi districts, with the situation in Holosiivskyi being assessed as the most severe, where specialist teams continue to work.
Status in Shevchenkivskyi District
Repair work is ongoing at specific buildings in Shevchenkivskyi District. To expedite recovery, 16 repair crews are currently operating around the clock. A decision has been made to bring in up to 50 additional repair teams:
- 20 from other regions of Ukraine
- 30 from Ukrzaliznytsia, the national railway company
In total, approximately 200 specialists are now involved in the damage mitigation efforts. This incident highlights the persistent strain on Ukraine's critical infrastructure amid ongoing challenges.
Oleksii Kuleba provided further details on the team's decisions and next steps during a broadcast on the 'We – Ukraine' television channel.
The state of the energy system in Kyiv and the surrounding region remains critical, and the response team's active measures underscore the urgent need to address these challenges. The deployment of extra repair brigades is expected to significantly accelerate the restoration of power to the affected areas, which is vital for maintaining public services and regional stability.
