Kyiv Region Power Outage Schedules for February 9: Latest Updates

Оновлені графіки відключень електроенергії в Київській області на 9 лютого.

Stabilization Power Outages in the Kyiv Region

Stabilization power outages continue in the Kyiv region on February 9. These controlled blackouts are part of temporary schedules implemented by DTEK following a massive Russian attack on Ukraine's energy infrastructure on the night of February 7. The assault damaged two DTEK thermal power plants and disabled key high-voltage substations. As a result, Ukraine was forced to reduce output at its nuclear power plants, leading to a significant loss of available electricity generation. These attacks are part of a wider Russian campaign to target civilian infrastructure during the winter.

As of February 9, the capital's power grid has been stabilized, but residents must adhere to individual outage schedules. Below are the current electricity outage schedules for six consumer groups, effective for February 4, 2026:

  • Group 1.1 - Power off from 0:00 to 05:30, 09:00 to 16:00, and 19:30 to 24:00.

Impact of Military Aggression on Energy Infrastructure

The ongoing stabilization outages highlight the severe impact of Russia's military aggression on Ukraine's energy infrastructure. Damage to thermal power plants and substations has created a complex power supply situation, acutely felt by Kyiv region residents. With constant attacks on energy facilities, stabilizing the national grid and providing clear information to the public are both critical, enabling people to plan their daily lives around these disruptions.
