Former striker and ex-coach Manchester United Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is close to returning to Old Trafford as interim head coach. It is expected that the Norwegian will lead the team until the end of the current season, and his contract already has agreed financial terms. This is reported by Nettavisen.
Solskjaer's salary at Manchester United in 2026
According to Norwegian media, the 52-year-old specialist will earn between 50,000 to 60,000 pounds per week. In addition to the base salary, the contract includes bonuses for sports performance.
If Manchester United can finish the season in the Champions League zone, Solskjaer is promised bonuses ranging from 3 to 4 million pounds. The club does not rule out that the team's successful performance could serve as a basis for offering a full long-term contract.
How much Solskjaer earned during his first stint at Manchester United
The current financial terms are noticeably more modest than those that Solskjaer had during his first appointment. In 2018, when he also led the team as an interim manager, his annual salary was around 7.2 million pounds.
The same amount was received by the Norwegian after signing a permanent contract with the club. Thus, the new offer is more than twice lower, but leaves room for income growth in case of positive results.
