More than 9500 volunteers from the State Criminal Enforcement Service of Ukraine have joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine, including 100 women. This was reported by 'Hlavkom', citing the SCES.

About 9,500 convicts are said to be performing tasks at the front, including on the front lines, and not all of them are men.

'100 women who have received sentences are serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. They are usually assigned to communications, logistics, and medical support units,' the message states.

Let us remind you that as of July 1, 2025, there were 22866 people serving sentences in the institutions of the State Criminal Enforcement Service of Ukraine, including 1415 women. There were 19623 people in correctional colonies, 956 people in correctional centers, and 66 people in educational colonies.

As 'Hlavkom' reported, in May 2024, the parliament adopted amendments to the legislation that allowed convicts to be released early on the condition of joining the law enforcement agencies.

More than 9500 volunteers from the SCES have joined the Armed Forces, including 100 women. This demonstrates the willingness of various segments of the population to join in the defense of the country in the face of threats. It is also worth noting the positive changes in legislation that help convicts to be released by participating in the Armed Forces.
