Command Meeting Focuses on Defense Innovations and Electronic Warfare Systems

The Ukrainian military leadership recently convened to evaluate the capabilities and deployment of electronic warfare (EW) systems aimed at protecting critical infrastructure. These technologies have played a vital role in neutralizing a significant number of Russian "Shahed" drones. During the session, new directives were issued to the Armed Forces of Ukraine and defense manufacturers to expand and enhance these countermeasures.

Sanctions Coordination and Technological Priorities

The Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine (GUR) provided an overview of Russia’s technological priorities for 2023 and 2024, highlighting the supply chains for essential components and equipment used in Russian weapons production. The meeting also initiated plans for fresh sanction packages, with GUR preparing recommendations for the Cabinet of Ministers and the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC).

Efforts are underway to align sanctions policies across allied jurisdictions to maximize their impact. A central point of discussion was the procurement and delivery of long-range drones to Ukrainian forces in 2024. These drones must be capable of effectively countering Russian strikes with precision and adaptability.
