Investment Boost for Stoke Space
On September 8, Stoke Space announced it has raised $2.3 billion to fund the development of its reusable rocket, Nova Pathfinder. Designed to deliver three tons to low Earth orbit, the vehicle’s inaugural flight is scheduled for early 2027. The first stage of Nova Pathfinder has already undergone testing at the Moses Lake facility.
A key innovation in Nova Pathfinder is the active cooling of the second stage’s thermal protection system using supercooled liquid hydrogen. This technology aims to enhance both launch efficiency and safety. Company representative Andy Lapsa commented:

Alongside Nova Pathfinder, Stoke Space is developing a larger rocket, Nova Block 2, capable of carrying 15 tons to orbit. This next-generation vehicle is expected to enter service by 2029. Lapsa emphasized that this funding round is focused on scaling up—building infrastructure, increasing production capacity and flight cadence, and supporting the development of their second-generation launch vehicle.
