The shooting at McDonald's in Cherkasy occurred on August 7, when a man opened fire in the fast-food establishment on Smelyanska Street. Police and media reported this incident. The man fired several shots from an automatic weapon, after which staff and visitors were evacuated.

'Cherkasy police are working at the shooting scene in the dining establishment in the city center. It is preliminarily known that a man with a weapon is inside the premises,' the statement said.

Investigation teams, special forces, and medical personnel arrived at the scene. The police urged citizens to refrain from approaching the restaurant and promised to provide more information later.

Arrest and Investigation

The injured man was taken to the hospital around 12:20. It is known that the shooter was the perpetrator himself, who was also hospitalized. Fortunately, no other restaurant customers were harmed.

'The investigative authorities of the Cherkasy region police have initiated criminal proceedings under part 4 of article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The motives are being established,' it was reported.

The event recalls an incident in Vinnytsia, where a crowd 'stormed' the military enlistment office. Currently, an investigation into all circumstances of the Cherkasy shooting is underway.
