The Defense Forces of Ukraine have undergone structural changes, and now a new Joint Forces Group has been formed, which will be almost entirely managed by the Joint Forces Command under the leadership of Major General Mykhailo Drapatiy. General Drapatiy previously headed the operational command 'Khortytsia' and operational command 'Dnipro' and will now lead this new group, which will operate in the Kharkiv region and adjacent territories. This sector has been entrusted to General Drapatiy for the second time, who commanded the Joint Forces Operation 'Kharkiv' during the Russian offensive in 2024.
«This complex and tense sector, which occupies one of the key places in the enemy's plans, has been entrusted to General Drapatiy for the second time. It should be noted that in 2024, he already headed the Joint Forces Operation «Kharkiv» during the Russian offensive on Kharkiv and the threats to Vovchansk,» it is noted in the statement.
The operational and strategic grouping of troops 'Dnipro' has completed its activities within the framework of the corps reform
The operational and strategic grouping of troops 'Dnipro' ceased its functioning within the framework of the corps reform, which involved transforming the Armed Forces of Ukraine into a corps structure. Now all newly created corps are successfully carrying out tasks within the respective groupings.
Chief of the General Staff Andrii Hnatov explained that the implementation of these changes in the Armed Forces of Ukraine required significant effort and preparation. All ten newly created corps management bodies were ready at the same time, which required the involvement of the most qualified servicemen. Special training was also conducted with the participation of instructors from partner countries.
Changes related to the creation of a new joint forces grouping and the completion of the activities of one of the operational and strategic groupings have taken place in the power structures of Ukraine. Major General Mykhailo Drapatiy has become the head of the new grouping, which will operate in the Kharkiv region, while the 'Dnipro' grouping has completed its work within the framework of the corps reform.
